Hiromi Oka is not a tennis virtuoso by any means, and she knows it. Still, she decides to join the tennis club, mostly because she wants to watch her tennis idol Ryuzaki in action. When the team gets a new coach, however, Hiromi’s idea of tennis as a “hobby” will be completely flipped upside down.
The new coach, Munakata, sees great potential in Hiromi and schedules her as a regular player for the upcoming tournament, despite the fact that she is just a beginner and all the other competitors are almost professional. Through arduous training, Hiromi begins to realize that she does indeed have potential. Her newfound skills, however, pit her against her former idol Ryuzaki. Munakata insists that she press on and gain the highest rank a student can achieve – a place on Japan’s Junior Tennis Team. But will she be able to surpass the legendary Ryuzaki? And what secrets about himself is coach Munakata hiding?
