A long-lasting enmity between the nations of Cruzon and Athens has finally escalated into full-scale war. The Athenians use powerful, mobile golems to battle against the weaker golems of Cruzon. Quartz – the power source of every machine in both Athens and Cruzon – is constantly being refined into something more easily controlled by the populace. After all, everyone is born with the ability to control quartz crystals. Well, almost everyone. Rygart Arrow is the legendary exception to this rule. He is unable to control quartz – the first person with such a disability in over a thousand years. He is given the name “un-sorcerer” due to his quartz stigma. It seems, however, that his power as an un-sorcerer is exactly what’s needed to power an ancient golem that, uniquely, does not run on quartz at all. With his newfound power, can he stop the war between Athens and Cruzon? And what will become of his friends – the prince of Cruzon and the former ally, Zess, who now fights under the Athenian banner? Most importantly, why secret power does Rygart truly posses which gives him power to control the millennium-old golem without quartz?
