It’s no surprise that Inuyasha and his half-brother Sesshoumaru are bickering yet again. Sesshoumaru struggles to understand why his powerful father would pass on the worthless Tenseiga to him while allowing Inuyasha to wield the mighty Tetsusaiga. But now, their father’s most powerful sword – Sou’unga – has appeared and is seeking a master. After wreaking havoc across Japan, it finds a worthy host in the deceased Takemaru – the man responsible for killing Inuyasha’s human mother. Inuyasha’s mysterious past is finally unraveled, and he must bravely confront it if he wishes to live.
As the battle between brothers for the ownership of Sou’unga intensifies, an army of undead soldiers rises to complicate matters even further. Sou’unga continues its fierce purging of the world, and neither Inuyasha nor even Sesshoumaru is powerful enough to stop it. Only if the brothers are willing to combine their strengths and work together will the mighty power of Sou’unga be overcome. The brothers cooperating? Doubtful.
