This story resembles some Korean folk tales of kumiho, a nine-tailed fox that can take many forms. Yobi is a young and kind fox with only five tales instead of nine. After losing her whole family to fox hunters, she lives deep in a forest far away from humans. Yobi lives with some weird aliens whom she befriends with. Then when one of her alien friends gets captured by a human, she has to go and rescue him. She then meets many humans, including Geum Yee, a young boy who sees her differently. She begins to enjoy life there, but there are things to trouble her. She is in for some danger, but who could want to harm her?
